Commenting on the news that E.ON and RWE have withdrawn plans to build a new nuclear power station on Anglesey, Russell George AM, Shadow Minister for the Environment, said:
"This is obviously disappointing news for Wales’ renewable energy sector, although hope for the future of Wylfa remains strong."
He added:
"The merits of Wylfa B will not have gone unnoticed by major energy investors and I am convinced that this site will continue to play a significant role in Wales’ future renewable energy mix.”
