Commenting, Mr George said:
"Representing a constituency in rural Mid Wales, I’m acutely aware that the lack of basic Broadband infrastructure and slow connection speeds are making local businesses uncompetitive, which is having a detrimental impact right across the Mid Wales economy.
"There was stark warning for both the Welsh and UK Governments in the report in that it acknowledges that the digital divide is getting wider.
"Whilst people in some urban locations can now look forward to ultrafast broadband, there are 90,000 homes in Wales without access to broadband altogether, the majority of which are in rural areas.
"Both government have ambitious targets for improving communications infrastructure but what is vital is that government spending in both Cardiff and Westminster is focused on delivery for rural areas first; that must be the priority for ministers."
