Government officials have scheduled a public meeting tonight (Thursday 19 July) at the Elephant and Castle Hotel at 6pm, to discuss the study into the traffic issues and works to improve traffic flow on the A483 through Newtown.
Commenting Mr George said:
"This is an incredibly important meeting not just for residents and businesses of the town but for all of Mid Wales because the traffic problems have become a major pinch-point and barrier to economic growth.
"There have been significant local concerns with the report that the Government has commissioned regarding the traffic problems and I want the people of Newtown to have their say on this and quiz officials thoroughly on the contents and rationale of the report.
"I am urging as many people as possible to take this opportunity and come to the Elephant and Castle tonight and let the Government know how we really feel about the traffic chaos we’ve all had to suffer."
