Updated September 2023
The Welsh Government has introduced blanket 20mph speed restrictions in built up areas in September 2023. In many places, 20mph is appropriate. Lower speed limits outside schools, and hospitals are necessary. However, concerns have been raised about the impact the blanket approach will have on main roads and the cost to the Welsh economy.
Personally, I believe that each community’s needs should be assessed and decided individually. A “one-size fits all” approach means that 20mph limits will be imposed in locations where it is wholly inappropriate.
Your views are important and I want to understand your thoughts on Welsh Government's introduction of blanket 20mph restrictions. Filling out my short survey will ensure that I can represent your views in the Senedd and elsewhere.
